Katz Group announced today that Executive Vice President Bob Black is leaving the company to become a partner at the law firm MLT Aikins in Edmonton effective November 1, 2019.
This transition occurs as Rogers Place is into its fourth season of operation. The building has matured and Bob’s responsibilities related to construction completion have wound down.
Bob has played an integral role in bringing Rogers Place from concept to reality, ensuring it reflected Daryl Katz’s vision. He held a vital leadership role on the Project Leadership Team which delivered North America’s newest and most advanced Arena on time and on budget. Afterwards, he continued his role as Katz Group representative in dealing with post-construction matters.
In the near term, he will continue to consult to Katz Group on construction litigation/dispute resolution matters relating to ICE District. OEG thanks Bob for his major contribution to Rogers Place and ICE District. Bob is a passionate supporter of what OEG has achieved in the District. He brings expertise and passion to everything he does and we wish him every success.
“We wish Bob the very best in his new opportunity at MLT Aikins. Over the past decade, Bob played a key leadership role in the successful construction and opening of Rogers Place and the launch of ICE District.” – Jürgen Schreiber, Katz Group CEO
“From the beginning, I was genuinely inspired by Daryl’s transformative vision for Rogers Place and ICE District. It was just such a great honour to play a part in delivering upon that vision”. – Bob Black
